Apparently rumors are floating around that Apple is replacing with 6th gen nanos. Seeing that you should have received your nano by now based on your 2 days max comment, can you confirm if you have the 6th gen or 1st gen?

I just got mine...6th...

There is another thread here on the forums and I posted a pic of mine. Brand new Nano. 6th Gen.

The company WAS replacing 1st gen Nanos with refurb'd first-gen nanos. Once they ran out, what else could they do but offer the current-gen nanos? So that's what they are doing.

Refurb the ones that came in?

The funny thing about this is I responded to the notification from Apple the second I got it which was the day Apple opened this replacement program for the 1st Generations and got my box the next day. I still got a new 8GB one. I am happy and very happy with what Apple did.

Received and email + tracking number yesterday for Nano #1. It should arrive Friday. No word on Nano #2 yet, but I'm sure they will work it through their system at some point.

I put in my request on Nov 14th and it took Apple over a month to get me the envelope. I can't complain though considering that I got my replacement 6gen nano the past Friday. Thumbs up to Apple for basically switching out my old for a new.

I was wondering though if anybody knows if the 6gen replacement nanos are brand new or if they're refurb 6gen nanos?

My money would be on referb, though considering you get the same warranty and support as if it were new, doesn't really matter.

Mine is sitting at home in the mailbox after being In limbo since nov 15. Not complaining, considering I went from gen 1 to gen 6 without even having an issue with the battery to begin with.

Mine was working fine but of course with bad batteries, you never know. One day it could be working fine and then you go to charge it and boom, battery explosion. I was mainly looking forward to getting a "touched up" 1gen since mine had some scratches front and back but I can't complain about getting a "new" 6gen 8gb nano. I would have preferred a black nano but beggers can't be choosers.

Way to go Apple. :)

you could try and exchange it at an Apple Store. Couldn't hurt to ask, ya know. Depending on color, I will be asking for an exchange.

Brad, all the ones I have seen are silver. I posted a pic of mine earlier on in this thread.

I would have preferred Blue but the Silver one is fine also. If it were pink, then I might say something! :D

I really like the new 8GB nano. Very impressed and it's so small.
