I can only speak for myself when I say that I am happy enough with my VZW Droid X to wit until June 2011 when my 1 year contract expires. At that time, I plan to see what Apple and Android have available and in the works and then choose. For the limited things I do with a "smart" phone (telephone, e-mail, web browser, calendar, weather/news) the Apple -vs- Droid thing is becoming less important and price and contracts are more of a criteria in my choices.

I was thinking. Is it really worth it to get a Verizon iphone now? Apple with be updating the iphone models again in June like always right?
What do you think?

Personally, I'm completely content with the current model. There is nothing it does or doesn't do that is a big problem for me. So, I always follow the philosophy of buying what you need when you need it. It will still do those things you bought it to do long after a newer, better version arrives.

Well stated. I'd be more inclined to update my iPhone when I see one that makes me think my current one is lame. Probably won't be until 2012 at the earliest.

For whatever reason, Verizon tells me I'm upgrade eligible. So, on the 2nd of February, if I get in on it in time, I'm going to place my order. Then I can sell my Incredible and hopefully recoup the $199 I'll need to shell out.

Can't wait.

For those with VZW currently and are considering pre-ordering on 2/3, wouldn't you rather wait to see what's up in June?

Nope, waited long enough and the current version meets my needs.

Plus 1 with cwa107. Like they say if you keep waiting for the next new version, you will be waiting for ever.

I think this case is slightly different. Apple's track record has been to announce the next iPhone at WWDC.

I am currently with Verizon but I am going to wait until 4G LTE is nationwide and the Iphone can handle it. Also will be interesting to see if Verizon changes their unlimited data plan.
