• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

I am creating a new iMovie for the first time in a while. I have dragged several videos from the events files, inserted title frames before each, and inserted transitions between each one. I have set each of the titles and transitions to 10 seconds and all is well until I exit iMovie and reopen it later. That's when the mysteries start. 1) the titles are now 0.1 seconds and 2) some of the individual videos are shortened by several seconds at the end.

FYI I am iMac20" early 2008 O/S El Capitan 10.11.6 and iMovie 9.0.9

Suggestions will be appreciated

Sorry, poppi, I left iMovie 11(v9) behind sometime ago, but I can't recall that happening to me.

I think that your transition time is limited by the duration of the following clip. Thus you ccould not have a transition with a 10 second duration if the clip is only 9 seconds, say.

I had this for a while too, until I completely upgraded iMowie. Then everything opened normally after closing, I don't know what the problem is, but you can try
