IMAC to TV

Hello all,

Simple question.... Can new imacs connect to TVs (VGA Pc input D-sub) and if so how?

If I'm understanding your question right, your t.v. needs to have HDMI. You will need a video cable with a mini DVI to DVI converter. You will also need an audio cable. I have mine hooked up, it's great. Hope this helps.

Sorry, but that is incorrect. The TV does not need to have HDMI and that adapter will not work since the newest iMacs do not have a mini-DVI port, they have a mini displayport (mdp).

If you're sure you have the new iMac and definitely want to use VGA, you need one of these:

Mini DisplayPort to VGA Adapter - Apple Store (U.S.)

You may not be very happy with a VGA connection as a great many TVs do not allow for native resolution through that port. I would suggest you open up the owners manual prior to purchasing any adapter/cable.
