Imac Speakers Question

I have a speaker set that has a jack that goes directly into the computer. One speaker is Blown so it sounds terrible running the plug in speakers. I only want to run the sub that came with the speakers and have the builtin Imac speakers play. So basically I want to run the sub with the built in speakers on the Imac. Please help?!

You'll need an external audio card or something to separately power the sub-woofer. As soon as you plug anything into the sound input jack your iMac speakers will mute.
