Howdy. Can I direct iCloud to an external for pictures? I have thousands that are taking up a lot of room on my internal, but I am told that if I delete them, they are trashed from iCloud. I thought that was the point, LOL. Anyway, (literally) 13k pics and 24k mp3's need to be moved. Ideas? Thank you.

From what you've said it seems that your internal drive has a large collection of photos/images and audio taking up space. These files are also being backed up/mirrored to iCloud storage. Is that correct?

If that's the case, the easiest thing to do would probably be to transfer the audio and photos/videos to an external hard drive That's easy enough to do. I'm going to assume that you are using Apple's Photos program to handle the Photos and iTunes/Music to manage the audio files. The following articles should help you get things working.

Transferring Music is explained in these directions. At the top of the page change the OS version to whatever OS you are currently using. If you have audio files that you don't want added to the Music library copy those over separately without adding them to the library.
