How to read ibooks in my imac?

I have been reading some of your answers and they're really good.
And now I have query for you:
How can I read a book in my imac that I have read and highlighted on my ipad?
I'd like to be able to see and maintain the notes and highlights I have made on the ipad.

Beginners error

I'm sorry i think I have posted my first question on the wrong forum, please forgive me being a beginner.

Unfortunately, yeah, it's in the wrong section lol. No biggie, I'm sure a mod will move it.

But to your question:

if it's an iBooks book, you don't. iBooks is iPhone/iPod/iPad only at this time, there is no OSX version of it - just as you can't even access the Apple Bookstore through your Mac. If the book was on the Kindle or one of the other eReaders that actually have a software package for OSX or Windows it'd be a different story.
