how does Time Capsule work with both Windows and Mac

I'm unsure,,, that is what I was thinking thought does the old drive need to be reformatted in order to be recognized by the tc?

I can answer this now.

The format of the drive is "Apple Shared". So I tried to see what kind of files I can write to it:

OS X: 10+Gb file, does work
Windows XP: 10+Gb file, does work

So it's NTFS for Windows, and HFS+ for Mac.
So Apple does have the technology..

Started reading this thread and got worried since my 500GB time capsule just arrived today. I see that things are as I expected in the later posts.

I don't get my Mac (new switcher) until tomorrow though, would it be better to wait for set up with a Mac, or will it work just as great with a Windows machine?

Darkknight, i would wait and set it up with your new mac, I'm still working out the bugs with my tc though I am very pleased thus far
