HOw convert mp3 to mp4 for itunes?

Give Cog a try. The latest release is 10.4+ and the supported formats lists AIFF. I'm not sure if the fact that the file is a compressed AIFF will make a difference but it's worth a shot.

Thank you vansmith, it works well. When I used SoundConverter to change .aifc to .aiff to accommodate VLC Player, the file size reduced. So, is .aifc in fact a compressed .aiff?

According to Wikipedia, AIFC is a compressed AIFF file: "The audio data in a standard AIFF file is uncompressed pulse-code modulation (PCM). There is also a compressed variant of AIFF known as AIFF-C or AIFC, with various defined compression codecs."
