lol, your trying way to hard. first of all, you dont need to delete any programs on your mac outa the box. 2nd of all, if you deleted your browser you will need to download another.

Thats the thing! I can't get on the internet without a browser.

And it's not out of the box. I bought it used off ebay.

If you are totally new to macs and live near an Apple store I would reccomend contacting that Apple store and find out when the next on site tutorial session is being held. Most Apple stores have these free classes on the weekends and some week nights. Most of what they teach is very basic and may do you well in getting started.

If the seller included the original OS/system restore disks I would reccomend just doing a clean install of your system. This way you will get rid of all the previous owners old info, files, and apps, and you will get back the browser that you deleted.

I have another question.

How do I change the download location? Like it saves it to my desktop. How do I change where I want a file downloaded to?
--
It's not panther. It's 10.1 I haven't had a chance to get my hands on panther.

And no it did not come with any install discs, just as is.

But please answer my question ^
--
Guys, just be patient and try to answer my questions, please?

I have a lot.
--
Ugh! I'm trying to install this installer update tool to update my os x, but the thing won't let me choose the harddrive to install it on, like it shows the harddrive, but won't let me click on it.

Why won't it let me?

I'm sorry, but this is going to be a stupid question. You are installing it on the main HD, right? Do you have another HD plugged in?

I don't know about 10.1 but with Jaguar and Panther there should be a green arrow on the Drive that is selected. You say you can not even select one of the drive icons? It will have to be the Main hard drive.

Like IWhat said, it has to be the Main drive and not an external.

Ugh, I wish I could find someone who has panther, this thing is being retarted.

I have a 10.0.3 install disc, it's like the first version of os x, but I dunno if i'd want to install that crap.

It's not external, it says "checking disks" or something, then it shows my harddisk icon from desktop, but it won't let me click on it.

Does the hard drive have a Red mark by it?

I wish I would have known sooner that you were running such an old copy of OSX. I believe the old OSX's did not even have Safari on it but just IE.

Is there possibly a check mark that needs to be checked in order to continue?

Do you think you could give us a screenshot? Command+Shift+3, then in your browser next to the "Post Quick Reply", click on the "Go Advanced", and below click on "Manage Attachments", and upload the file.

May be you are not the Admin? Could that be?

It says user "admin" then it asks for me to put the password which is "admin" and it takes me through all the things, until it gets to checking disks, and it dosen't let me

But, I'll take a screenshot

The picture if a .tif file, and it says invalid file type when I try to upload.

In Preview, then File, just go to "Export", and convert it to jpeg.
