Have original iPod

I have the first iPod made - the big white one. I'd like to sell it to a collector, but can't figure out how to wipe out all the info on it. All tips greatly appreciated. TIA

If you connect it to your Mac with the cable (and a USBC adapter), it should show up as an external drive.

I forgot the original iPod had a FireWire (FW) 400 connector. You will need a FW400 to FW800 adapter and the FW800 to USBC adapter.

Once you connect the iPod to your Mac, you can use Disk Utility to then erase the drive.

Aha! I knew I needed something I didn't have! I have a drawer full of cables, but not the one I need. Thank you for explaining.
