Hard Drive Swap for G5 Pro

I'm sorry but need help here I currently own a Mac Pro G5 1.6ghz system with 2 x 2 terrabit drives and interested in purchasing G5 Quad core 2.5 ghz machine can I just drop in both drives in quad? and will everything be update after boot.
I was thinking maybe I should put in backup drive and do a transfer from main boot drive, just looking for the quickest way around this any answers will be greatly appreciated..

The short answer is yes and it would help if you provided details of the operating system on the drives. Also depends on what you mean by 'update'. The same OS will still be on the drives.
