Hi all. Looking for advice on how to best set up a Mac network in my home.
I currently have:
- M1 Mac Air (arrived this week - for my day to day usage).
- M1 Mac Mini (my music production DAW computer).
- a 2012 Mac Mini (retired since picking up the M1 Mini, but still working perfectly. Ready for repurposing... or resale).
- a reasonably decent TP Link router of some kind with multiple USB 3.0 ports.
- 3TB of available storage in unused external drives.
What I would like to do - I don't use 'the cloud', but I would like to set up a 'cloud' within the confines of my home. Centralised photo, music and document storage, backup capacity for both my M1 machines. I have tried to set up a NAS in the past with an external drive and my router, but despite following all instructions, only had partial success it getting it up and running.
Given the above, how would you advise I set up the Mac network in my home?
