Hello to all viewing this post.
We've been mac users for years and right now I'm stumped. We have a dual G4 (867 mirrored drive doors) running 10.4.10 and firewire has just stopped working. I have a Kanguru external drive that has both firewire and usb interface. When connected to usb, the drive mounts, but not when connected to firewire after a restart. Two other firewire drives are no longer recognized either. Nor is my Canon digital video camera recognized. Has anyone else had this problem?
Disk utility and Disk Warrior can not recognize the firewire drives either. FSCK and Techtool can not identify the problem either. Diagnostic in about this mac lists no errors.
P.S. We have an internal HD with 10.2.8 and when booting from this disk no firewire either. Pulled all PCI cards and still the firewire drives are not recognized. Also reset pram and booted in single user mode to run fsck -fy but no issues. Also tried PCI firewire card. It is recognized by the computer but firewire externals still not recognized.
I'm stumped. does anyone have a solution?
Thanks for the assistance.
