I'm stumped on this one, one of two volumes on one SSD does not appear on the Desktop as it always did in Monterey.

We have a Samsung T5 2TB SSD which has been partitioned in half for CCC backups of both my and my wife's MBPs.
Since upgrading to macOS Ventura only my, Rod's CCC Backup volume appears on the Desktop. My wife's does not appear on the desktop or in the Finder sidebar.
It does appear in Disk Utility and appears to be Mounted because Unmount is available in the Tool bar and the eject button appears on the right of the volume in the sidebar menu.

In the past when connected to my MBP I would see both Volumes on the desktop and attempting to eject either would bring up a dialogue stating there are two Volumes in this drive would you like to eject both or select one. I almost always selected both but now the only way to avoid the "This drive was not ejected properly..." warning is to eject it from the Disk Utility window.
It behaves exactly the same on my wife's MBP, only my Volume displays on her desktop although hers is clearly mounted in DU.

Honestly I think I have tried everything I can think of but I'm stymied on this one.

Did you look in Finder > Preferences > General and make sure there was a check for External Disks? I know sometimes something goes missing and the box is shaded, not checked.

Yep, honestly it's a real puzzle. Why just one volume, obviously the system sees it, it registers as mounted. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

The only other thing I can think of is because it is associated with your wife's MBP, that it won't show up on yours as accessible. Does the same thing happen when connected to her MBP? Is her MBP running Ventura too?

Ferrari, that was my thought too until I connected it to her MBP which is running Ventura and only my "Rod's CCC Backup" appears.

Thanks for the input ferrarr, I've given up on this one. Honestly I tried everything I could think of and it was working as intended prior to the Ventura upgrade so I can only imagine it's just a glitch or something related to security.
I have erased/formatted and partitioned the SSD again and now it performs as expected on both MBPs. It was originally setup on Big Sur so although I try to limit rewriting to SSDs it was probably due for a Spring Clean.

I'm glad you got it working again. I'm just wondering if you attempted Disk Utility > First Aid on both TM backup containers?

Yes. On the containers, then the volumes and finally the drive itself, nothin'.

You are very welcome, I'm stumped but my best guess is there was something wrong with the partitioning on the SSD that despite First Aid prevented Ventura from displaying the volume despite being mounted.
