Hello,

I've ordered a new MacBook Pro and I intend to try the Migration Assistant to move all my stuff from my old Mac Book across to the new one.

I suppose the fastest transfer time would be with an Ethernet cable connecting the two Macs ?

Back years ago when I was working, but on Microsoft machines, we connected two PCs with a twisted Ethernet cable.

Can anyone tell me whether I should use a twisted or straight Ethernet cable between my new and old Mac Books?

Thanks

Any newish ethernet cable should work.

A regular ethernet cable should work. For the last several years network cards have had the ability to sense when they are connected directly to another computer. In essence, the network card is doing what used to require crossover ethernet cables.
