Told me to disconnect all 3rd party devices leaving only my keyboard connected. SUCCESS!!
[Bold mine]

OK, but I a bit confused as to how the camera was connected… and what app was used to do the transfer…

And as you say, what gives with the MBPro and why the difference…

Lot's of Hmmms… from my corner. ;)

Odd that the tech support person couldn't tell me why he or she suggested this. I would have liked to have known the reasoning.
My bet would be that either of the following is true with emphasis on number 1:
1. First rule of troubleshooting when faced with a difficult to trace issue is to simplify the system as much as possible before going further. Once the device in question is working, other peripherals can be added one-at-a-time until the problem recurs.
2. Somewhere in all the technical support calls they have received a similar problem has occurred.

I think it had something to do with the information stored maybe in the cache? RAM? About which devices were plugged into the USB ports. And that somewhere along the way data was maybe "jumbled" when "Camera RAW support" patches were added one over the other. Any how I'm glad it was this simple. The process could have been so much more complicated and a royal PITA. Seeking drivers for 3rd party devices that could have gone out biz. Have yet to support El Cap. etc. Who knows? :)

In any case, the net DSLR I buy will definitely need to have WiFi support. No need for cables/ports. That and it would be a newer DSLR so EL Cap or the next OS X would surly be supporting it. For access or "Camera RAW".

Ok. Well thank you every one for helping. Putting forth ideas. I'm bowing out of this thread now. :)
