Can a mac play .WMV files?

I just installed fli4mac and Perian and I still can't watch wmv files. At least the three I have in my mailbox. After they are d/l it says they are not a movie file. Before the install it just d/l a window of jibberish, for me anyway.

im not sure if they will so thought i would ask before i attempt to.

I am also new to all things Mac and had the same question. I downloaded Flip4 on my Leopard imac and all is fine so far.

I'm using leopard with Flip4. It works fine except in terms of performance. It takes about 10-15 seconds to load up a 300mb wmv file with 2.2ghz MacBook Pro.

Flip4mac is the official plug in for playing wmv files.
Check that the file extension is not corrupted, for example it might say .mov.wmv at the end.

Having said that wmv is a bad way of encoding files and email is not good way of sending them - maybe the files are corrupted?
