My fiance and I are looking at getting a camcorder and I am leaning towards getting an HD one just because of the great prices they have on them lately. But I heard that importing and editing HD video can be a pain/strain on the computer. I plan on just using iMovie (just upgraded to iLife '09) but have no issue moving up to Final Cut or something like that if necessary. I have a 15" MBP (latest generation before the most recent revamp); 4GB 667 MHz DDR2 SDRAM, 2.4 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo, yada yada yada. For just basic video editing of like home videos, events, etc. is my Mac sufficient? Or should I stick to basic camcorder format?
