Hi all,

We are needing to implement a NAS device on our network and need it to be mixed windows and mac compaitible.

What do you guys recommend? i know that theres issues with accessing shares across networks with SMB etc for Macs and need advice on a device that has fast access time and data redunancy with raid 1 or simular in it.

IM definately open to suggestions!

Any NAS worth the money you spend on it will support Linux, Windows and Mac and most importantly the native network filetypes of each, NFS, SMB and AFP. So you can access the NAS in the OS' native tongue, as it were, and be fine.

You haven't told us what your budget is, how much storage you want to have, how many users you expect to have access, if the NAS will be part of a domain and authenticate through AD or stand-alone authentication, what the purpose of the NAS would be beyond a shared storage place to dump files for all to see.
