- 2.5 GHz Macbook Pro Mid 2012 4GB
Congrats on your purchase. I too want to add my 2¢ worth about upgrading RAM. I tried Mavericks on my 2012 MacBook Pro with 4 GB RAM and the speed was glacial. I upgraded to 8 GB and the speed was almost normal. Then I splurged and bought a SSD and now the machine is lightening fast. Recently, I really splurged and bought a 2013 27" iMac with a 3.5 GHz i7 & a 3 T Fusion Drive but still immediately upgraded the RAM to 24 GB. The speed of this machine is incredible. I just hope it lasts as long as my last iMac which is still running and is 9 years old. I am a fan of Crucial memory and bought my 16 GB upgrade for $167.99. Hey, I am not an employee of Crucial, but I have bought dozens of RAM upgrades from them in my old job and never had a failure. Crucial memory is actually Micron memory.
So I would be buying the DDR3 x2 8GB RAM? I don't want to purchase the wrong one.
PS What's normal speed? you're talking to a PC guy here, who uses a Nexus 5 for a phone. I don't know what normal speed is lol
