They are!! They always are. That was one of the first things i changed when i got the computer.

I have run xbench over and over again and i can not for the life of me get into the 70's.

I can't even get to 50 on my PowerBook:
1.67GHz, 1.5GB ram, 80GB 5400 RPM, 64mb 9700

I think there is something up with the XBench version I downloaded, maybe they updated it and thats why the results are off.

BTW, using version 1.2

Yeah I think so too. I'll tell you what, I still have 1.1 loaded on my Powermac, so I'll do a before and after upgrade to 1.2 benchmark to see if it's different. I'll post back later.

xbench 1.2 = 100.03 on my PB 1.50GHz 1.5 gig everything shutdown, even the browser.. I think your connection has something to do with it, doesn't seem like I should beat the 1.67

iBook G4 1.2 1.25Gig RAM Emac 1.42Ghz 1GB RAM
emac xbench

Emac 1.42 Ghz 1Gig RAM, ran through it several times and max I got was 56 - with resolution turned down to 1024x768, turning off spotlight, killing mysqld and using shadowkiller to stop automatic shadowing of windows. Bumping the resolution around seems to have an effect +/-5% or so. The memory scores were quite low, I'm guessing the G4 is memory speed limited.
