... erm, not to mention servers, business work, the LHC and many other research/development projects, and movies plus much more.
(before you mention finalcut realize that movies are developed and made on beowulf clusters, something you cant do with a mac.
and if Macs remove java, no more minecraft.... :'(

I wasn't implying that windows PC's can't be used productively...They just usually aren't... Your average home user is playing games on them.. (even if it is just solitaire...)

The two dumbest arguments I've heard yet for using windows over Mac ;

1) You can't play games on them

2) If you put your macBook down in a room full of other MacBooks, you won't know which one is yours... ( I did chuckle a little bit when I heard this one.)

As far as using beowulf clusters ...http://books.google.com/books?id=M7...UQ6AEwAA#v=onepage&q=beowulf clusters&f=false

So I guess you CAN do it on a Mac... weird.

Wait !!! no more minecraft ? oh my ! That WOULD be bad...

iMac Daddy, do you have any stats or studies to back up your assumptions on how users of each platform spend their time?

I think you're making pretty personal judgements on how people use each platform and ultimately, I don't think it's really accurate. I'm pretty sure the average home user do about the same things on a Mac as a Windows PC.

The exceptions are maybe that hardcore gamers use Windows, and most graphic artists use Mac. As for most other things, I would dare say the users are pretty equal.

Why would that make Jobs mad? Halo: CE made the Xbox and Halo 2 defined what online CONSOLE gaming should be. Halo 3 and Halo: Reach were both above average games but now 343 industries is going to be making Halo which most likely means that Halo won't be as good as it was when Bungie made it.

For the most part Halo is a console shooter (with a PC port) and the last time I checked Apple doesn't make a console.

Why would that make Jobs mad?

Easy. Bungie were a Mac Games developer. Almost every serious Mac person in the 90's heard of the Marathon Trilogy. They were arguably some of the best games to ever be released in the 90s. And Steve thought they'd keep making awesome games for the Mac platform. But that all changed then MS bought Bungie.

I think Steve was more mad at Bungie being purchased by MS and not Halo per sé.

Bungie is it's own company now, Microsoft doesn't own them anymore. Bungie has been its own company since 2007.
