Apple TV 2 - music streaming issues

My Apple TV has had problems for a while where it keeps telling me I have to initiate home sharing. It is on and has stayed on iTunes. Yesterday, my cable supplier installed a new modem and since then I cannot access my music no matter what I do. It works just fine streaming video from You tube or accessing videos on line, it just can't see my computer. Any thoughts?

As I side note, I have just under 27,000 songs in my library - is it possible that is part of the problem?

27,000? No. I have well over 130,000 and mine works fine.

Please provide a description of how your home network is setup, wired or wireless etc. Sounds to me like somewhere in the setup you Mac and ATV have become disconnected.
