If its a dual core PB I might actually buy one myself. I'm not really interested in a G5 PB though unless the clock speeds are at least in the 2.5 GHz range, which they likely will not be at this stage.

It is almost depressing in that owning computer for only 6 months prior to replacing it is unheard of for me. 2 years is my normal cycle.

seriously, my gf's imac sounds like a 747 taking off, and they say its because of the g5. my old Pb g4 use to **** near burn my legs everytime i sat in bed with it, a pb g5 is going to be extremely warm

On topic: No way it's a G5 IMO... Dual-core G4's? Possibly, they have to announce something since lots of people are holding out PB purchases in anticipation of some new technological advance.

I would be willing to bet they would go up some. I dont think they would rise a lot, but I dont know how they could put new technology in something and not raise the price a little bit.
