A funny e-mail I received satirizing the state of the U.S. educational system...

In retrospect, I'm sorry that I came off as hostile, specifically to Netty. I guess that I become passionate about somethings and should consider the consequences of my opinions on others :(

Very hostile! Especially when some of us have already mentioned that our parents were from a foreign country.

How was it hostile?

Your comments in this thread seem to contradict your signature.

P.S. Your avatar is not helping the situation, either.

I think it's great and once again I want to voice my appreciation for his service to his (my, our) country.

As for my thoughts:

Illegal immigration is illegal. Period. I don't deny that many illegal immigrants take jobs that many US citizens don't want, and they get paid less to do those jobs. But that doesn't change the fact that they came into the country illegally. Examine Mexico's laws and policies regarding people who cross Mexico's southern border illegally. It's not tolerated.

You want to change the law so "guest workers" are better tracked, better monitored, and better treated? I have no problem with that. But until they're legal, they're here illegally. Period.

National language is another ridiculous debate. Almost every other country in the world has a national language. I wouldn't move to Mexico and expect every government form, street sign, and telephone book to be in English. Again, I have no problem with people who come to this country legally. But it's their responsibility to conform to our country, not the entire country's responsibility to conform to each of them.

Wonderfully said Todd. I would never expect anyone to change themselves for me were I to travel or work in another country. I also agree that illegal is illegal. If you don't like it the way that it is, change it legally.

National language anyone? I'm ready to pass the law and build the wall :bone:

EDIT: Sweet, 200th post :)

OK, then. I will be the first in line *sarcasm* to build the wall between Cuba and the US.
Why not go all the way?
