Apple = idiots. Lion = idiotic operating system.

Are you joking ?? Give them a bit of leeway. Even Apple can have a bad day. If Lion is that idiotic to you, there is always Window's with there 94 update/fixes you can go back to.
I used the Combo update and havnt had a single glitch.
Im far from a fanboy, but calling  idiots is a bit over the top just because 1 update didnt go your way.

Not really joking dude. Don't get so upset life is good. Apple aren't idiots but Lion has been a big disappointment, tons of issues, not sure why the release from SL aside from a pure "we're now a consumer electronics company and are just going to release a product that's a minor improvement over the previous OS release."

I'm not mad but disappointed.

Hey guys,
This is my first post here. First of all, I just want to say thanks to all the members for your help. New Mac user now for about 10 months, (MBP 15" Mid 2011) and if it wasn't for this forum, I would probably still be lost. Just went thru my 10.7.3.combo update. No problems whatsoever. I performed another software update check afterwards and it came up with a "MBP EFI Firmware" update. Has anyone else had this as well? I have not updated this part yet. Could some explain exactly what this is? Thank you, Art.

There have been several firmware updates for the MBP since it came out - most addressing Thunderbolt issues - if I recall correctly. EIther way - you'll be fine installing those - just follow the instructions closely.

Before installing any firmware update do two things: 1. Make a backup and 2. Make sure your MBP is running on AC not battery when doing the update.

The 10.7.3 update stalled and froze while installing on my 2011 iMac. I had to force restart the machine but after rebooting itself twice it seems to be working fine. The Firmware update for the same iMac went flawlessly.

Both the 10.7.3 and firmware update for my 2010 Macbook went without a hitch.

Have you experienced any problems at all from the EFI update since?

New to Apple. Updated to the new Lion. Not a problem as yet. Did the same for my iPhone - to 5.1 - no problems either. Whats every one complaining about? Just do it.

Believe it or not - it's entirely possible that someone had a different experience than you did. Please watch the language.
Thanks.

Sorry. I didn't think the 'B' word was considered so bad or would offend. I'll keep an eye - or my teeth - on my tongue.

Still, my upgrade for both Lion and to 5.1 for my iPhone went without a hitch.

Updates

I
I know the power users in the group had the Pavlovian response to automatically download the updates (no offense here - use to do it myself) but some REALLY BAD experiences have taught me restraint when it comes to messing with what already works really well. Updates are nothing more than BETA till proven otherwise. And yes, Jesus Saves! And so should you.

I'm willing to bet that a good portion of the power users here actually hold off knowing what the potential risks are.

Os X 10.7.3 Combi Upgrade

I downloaded the upgrade last night. Took 2 hours.
This morning everything was working well but this afternoon I opened my Outlook for Mac 2011 and it was wiped clean. No accounts no emails, no contacts!!!
What do I do???
