Yosemite zoom funtion

I used to be able to zoom on any part of the screen by ctrl+ two finger swipe. Yosemite won't let me do that any more and the pinch or two finger tap way to do this doesn't work. As a dyslexic this was absolutey the best feature on Mac I need it back. Can anyone help?

Just found out what the problem was... It's in accessibility - zoom - scroll gesture.... Forgot I'd set that up there five yesar ago when I got this Mac.

My problem is that the scroll gesture option is grayed out and unavailable. I searched but could not find any information on why this would be the case. Screen shot attached.

Any ideas?
