I would like to start by asking to leave out the ethical discussion of why I would want to downgrade from this forum. I have an up to date macbook and I would like my old one to stand alone, proudly remaining a Snow Leopard as we roam into the future with our updated technology.

That said I was wondering if anyone was able to provide step by step instructions on how to downgrade from Yosemite to Snow Leopard using the snow leopard disc.

I have backed up the computer fully, there is no Time Machine BU to speak of, I do not run boot camp, I am fine erasing the computer fully.

I have read thread and post and no one has given concise instructions on how to do this, instead getting caught up in explaining why you wouldn't want to do this. It is really a project that I would love to undertake and am hoping someone out there can cut through the garbage and just explain how I can downgrade from Yosemite to Snow Leopard using the snow leopard disc.

Boot from the Snow Leopard install disk.
Run Disk Utility instead of Installer (look in menubar).
Wipe drive, Mac OS HFS+ (Journaled). Might need to repartition (because of Restore partition).
Quit Disk Utility, this starts Installer.
Install.
