Yosemite software update question

2016 Macbook Pro 512g.15" 16g.ram Ipad2Air 64gb wifi+4g Iphone 6s 64gig
okay im learning my way around Yosemite after downloading it yesterday. This is probably a stupid question but what happened to the software update behind the apple that was in the upper left hand corner and how do I go about finding it?

It's in the App Store. just go there and select the "Updates" tab at the top.

Thank you of course it is. It was only staring me in the face earlier today. It's been a long day.
