I'd like to install Yosemite on VirtualBox. Is there a way to DOWNLOAD it ONLY so I can do that?

You simply download it and quit the installer before it reboots your machine.
OS X and VB don't often get along well primarily because VB doesn't pass along the proper hardware info to the VM (and thus, the installer thinks you're trying to install on non-Apple hardware). I wish you the best of luck since I think it's doable but only with patience.
