My iMac is a 7,1 era machine, 500GB HDD, 151GB free, its got 6 Gigs of RAM, running Yosemite 10.10.1 and having issues on a couple of fronts... not technological enough to figure it out myself, but willing to try to do some debugging with someone's guidance. Comcast is my ISP, and I have their modem connected to my new Airport Extreme AC. Network is running fine, my wife's iMac (less than a year old) running great with Yosemite 10.10.1, as is my MBP which is running Leopard. WiFi is fine too, iPads and iPhones have no problem. My Problems are kinda mixed: Mail - Almost every time I open an email and/or try to respond to an email the Beach Ball shows up and in Activity Monitor I get "Mail Not Responding" on and off, mostly off. As I do a lot of design work, many emails have attached images incoming and outgoing but I always send drafts and use Dropbox for really big files. So mail is hit or miss. Safari - Strange as it seems, I can open a new window and/or tab and my home page of Google pops right up. I can type a query and Google will list answers, but when I try to go to the linked page, Safari stalls, and sometimes I get a message saying either I'm not connected to the internet (GF?) or Server Not Responding. When I see that, I jump on my PC or the MBP and confirm that the network is working and the server isn't down. After a few minutes, sometimes as long as 5-10 minutes... it finally goes to the page. Finder - Finder is showing that there's more than one computer using this IP address and next to my computer's name there's a (2) but that number changes, sometimes goes higher. Time Machine - I have a 1 TB Firewire800 drive dedicated to the time machine and I guess its finally full so its working from a closer date, and I've seen a message saying that there's not enough space to do a backup. Where do I start LOL? I should note that I started having issues with Mavericks, but Yosemite has basically made me revert back to my Shuttle PC which thankfully has some older versions of Photoshop that I can use in a pinch. But I want my speedy mac back. Thanks in advance for any help thats forthcoming. Mike
