I wouldn't put 10,000 RPM hard drives in an SE/30... They draw to much power, and could shorten the life of you SE/30's Power supply.

I may have an ethernet card for it... but just to let you know, they arn't cheap...
I'd part with mine for $38 shipped...

I have all the parts for a maxed-out SE/30. Not sure of the specs, but I don't have the power supply or case, but I do have everything else.

Cool, I just managed to get an ethernet card for just shipping. I have actually heard of someone removing the harddrive to put in 2x 9GB 10,000RPM harddrives 0_o. Anyway, DCraver, I'd love to hear what you have and if we could make a deal, my AIM and yahoo names are znalbone and my email is zach =AT= baconmonster.com. I hope to hear more from you. If anyone else has any other cool SE/30 stuff feel free to contact me!

They may have had dual hard drives, but they were driven of an external power supply. If you ran twp 10,000 RPM hard drives on the interal power supply, you would create a voltage drop, and internal componets wouldn't get the electricty they need. This as I said earlier, would shorten the life of your SE/30. There are ways that you can insatall a beefier PSU in your SE/30, but its probally not a good idea unless you feel comfortable fiddling around monitor tubes.

hmmm I can fiddle around monitor tubes ;) I like tweaking things, and I'd be careful because I know that those CRTs can put out quite a jolt. If you have any ideas on how to get an inexpensive beefy power supply, let me know

Yeah, that's really steep for a part for such an old machine. Do you have any idea what kind of drive the internal powersupply can use? Can I at least put a 7,200RPM drive in?

I just wanted to say that while everyone that I have met on this forum has been very kind an respectable. Dcraver is a horrible person to deal with. Not only was he rude and disrespectful after making ME an offer to buy his parts, but he constantly put me off when I wanted to finish the deal. I would highly recommend noone deal with this complete I like to eat marsh-mellow pies with cherries and elephants while hopping on one foot and kissing turtles, who shows a complete disregard for maturity and making proper business deals.

Yeah, I actually did get an ethernet card from someone else, I wanted to do a dlea on a different part, the whole thing was just such a less then respectful experience. One of the worst people I have ever dealt with and I've done a few dozen deals on several forums (most of them mac-related). It's a shame that people like this spoil the many good people in the Mac-Forums community.

I wish I could have done business but he made it impossible, such a shame.
