Quite frequently i get this message on both Word and the equivalent message on Excel.
I am running Office:Mac 2001 on a MacMini with OSX 10.8.5 with files stored on a TimeCapsule (used as fuel server NOT TimeMachine!)
So far a restart of the MacMini solves the problem which indicates that the files in question are not corrupt or damaged.
What may be the cause of this problem?
Is there a permanent fix?
Is there an easier fix for the moment other than re-start?
Re-starting Word or Excel does not help.
Open the file from Finder results in the same error message.
Thanks a lot for any constructive contribution.
P.S. Murphy's law: just now, for the first time in 2 years, I was able to open a document on the 5th attempt without restarting wither the program or the Mac. Why did it not open on the first 4 attempts? Nothing changed…..
