Word 2008 Watermark problem

Watermarks worked fine until today. Now, when inserting a watermark in a document which has a header containing a table, the watermark gets inserted in the header and the formatting (of the header and the watermark) is wrecked. Can anyone corroborate and/or offer a suggestion to fix this?
