Hey guys. I currently have windows 7, I need to get windows 8 and above so i can axctually partition it on my mac.

I have autocad and revit which i need for work. i am unfamiliar with the transition from windows 7 over to 8.

Will my software work on Windows 8 as it does on 7? I assume its the same as Panther/Mountain Lion/Yosemite etc, so it shouldn't matter?

Thanks guys.

Check out the reply to your other post about having to install Windows 8 on your Mac (which again you did not identify). You can certainly upgrade Windows 7 to 8, but why bother when you can upgrade to Windows 10 for free? And again, you might consider using virtual software instead. Parallels should be able to run Autocad (I don't know anything about "revit") in a virtual machine.
