My Dad bought Office 2011 for Windows for my mom and sister and I am wondering if there is anyway to run it on my Macbook Black?
I know about Crossover, but I'd prefer a way that didn't cost $40 or me have to partition off part of my hard drive. Thanks for any help

There is no such version as Office 2011 for Windows. There is Office 2011 for the Mac and an Office 2010 for Windows.

Download the free VirtualBox from here. Install Windows, and then install Office 2010.

Too many devices to list
See the note above about virtualization. If you use a VM product though, you're going to need a copy of Windows and if you need to purchase one, you might as well just buy Office for the Mac if all you're going to be using the VM for is Office.

You could try something like CrossOver but as you can see from their compatibility page for Office 2010 (here), only a few parts work but not well.

In short, what you're looking for is not possible.

You can run the PC version of Office through a virtual machine without having to partition your HDD. VirtualBox is free, but you have to buy Windows. You can also buy Office for the Mac. But you will need to do one of those 2 things. Your choice.

Cheers
