Hello,
I attempted Migration Assistant with WiFi (big mistake!). Cancelled operation when Assistant froze. Will I now have background clutter (partially loaded programs, files, other stuff) on my new Mac? How can I see what loaded? I'd like the new Mac to be a blank slate, as if I never attempted MA. Old Mac is MacBook Pro using OS Yosemite. New Mac is iMac with Retina Display using OS El Capitan. Any help is appreciated! Thanks.

If you have files now on your new iMac that were from your old MB Pro then yes, you did partially move your stuff. If you want it to be clean and new that means doing a clean install. The article below details two different ways to accomplish this but I would recommend the bootable USB installer version - it is faster.

The other option is to connect your macs using an ethernet cable and restarting the migration assistant.
