Why do both of my Macs hate flash?

Just wondering why my Macs play so poorly with flash, I have managed to get around youtube videos stuttering by making safari run in 32bit mode just kinda wondering why I have to do this. I did a search on here but didnt manage to find what I was looking for.

Note that Flash on the Mac is horrid. Performance of Flash on the Mac is so bad because, as has been admitted by Adobe, it is built from the same code that the Windows version is which is optimized for Windows.

Specs:
Brand new unibody macbook
2.26 4gb ram 320 hdd 10.6.2
Mac mini (late 09)
2.26 2gb ram 10.6.2
And strangely the problem seems worse on the macbook than the mini.

As already stated, it's not the Mac, it's Flash. Then people wonder why Apple hasn't put it on the iPhone/iTouch yet...

I realize that, I guess what I am trying to find out is why it works if safari is in 32bit but not if its in 64bit

Thank you for that. Like I said it works perfect with safari in 32bit mode I guess I'm just one of those people that arnt satisfied with click this then it will work, I'm always wondering ok, but why does that work.

I really don't notice any stuttering here on my C2D Mini with 10.6.2 and 2GB ram and I watch YouTube videos daily. I am running Safari in 64-Bit mode.

If there is a difference on your macs it could be that the current Flash version for Snow Leopard does not work well in 64-Bit mode. That is the only thing I can think of. I will try some more demanding You Tube videos here on both 32 and 64 bit and see if I can tell a difference. Is everything up to date OS wise?

Ya everything is up to date. I never had any issues with it till a few days ago, and never did any updates to flash or anything it just started happening the other night. The strange thing is the macbook did it way worse, and its got the 4 gb ram. Out of curiosity what version of flash are you running?

Flash 10.0 r42.

OSX 10.6.2 and Safari 4.04.

I just played many of my favorite Neo Classical guitar videos and saw not one jerk or hiccup. I am very picky on playback and my iMac G5 2.1Ghz since the last flash upgrade jerks a bit and sometimes pauses briefly with some YouTube videos which it did not do before the update. The C2D Mini though is so smooth. As good as my Dual Core Intel system running XP and Vista in fact.

Let me do some hunting around and see what I can find on your issue. Since it worked fine just a few days ago, something is wrong somewhere.

I will get back to you if I find anything.

Also the Mini is a 2.16Ghz with the older GMA950 Video chipset and not the newer one.
