Not unless you loose the piece. Then you can't start up your computer anymore. Imagine openign that thing and being greeted with the beautifully blue beveled interface of Windows XP.

Sounds like it's a flash drive though, not a hard drive.

It is, or probably more accurately, several - I don't think anyone has got over 32GB yet.

I doubt it, just because it's a huge cost increase, probably double the cost of the Macbook. It would be nice if it was an option for those who are less price sensitive, but need a "solid" computer is lightning fast and sips power for insane battery time.
