Hello all,

I have an old white macbook which has served me well for many years, but now it suddenly switches off and the will not power up, the yellow/ green light on the charger does not go on and there is no sign of life at all so I leave it for a couple of days then connect the charger to it and it will start up again and work for a day then shut down again. Any ideas?

Many thanks Tony

Could be a bad battery. Try removing the battery and see if it will work directly from AC power. That's assuming your MagSafe Charger Adapter is OK. Older white MacBooks are not worth very much. Keep that in mind before deciding on spending any money for repairs or even a battery replacement.
