Look at my memory.. I have 2 GB, and only 24mb available? My computer slowed down to a halt while this thing was burning.. is it supposed to be using that much ram?

Well to make sure the burn goes smoothly I'd imagine the system preloads as much of it as possible into the RAM so you don't get buffer underrun issues.
In your case it'll load a fairly large portion in, since you have so much RAM.

Notice the most of your RAM isn't in use, it's just 'Inactive', i.e. it's been reserved by Popcorn and filled with the disc data.

i was worried about this alot when i first got my mac, but really all *nix operating systems do this, i've found. basically the ram is still available for any program that needs it, but it sections it off for programs that it thinks may need it. i have no programs open on my mac right now, except for safari, itunes and ichat, and i only have 16mb free, but yet i have 700 megs inactive. Its just the way the operating system allocates the memory, and imo and the opinion of many others, it works much better than allocating memory as needed such as in Windows.
