The 13 screen was too small for me and performance wasn't fast enough for my needs but your daughter's needs I'm sure is different. If your daughter is petite she might prefer the 13 size.The other difference between the 13 and 15 is that the 15 has a matte screen option and it has a dedicated graphics card on the high end models. If your daughter is not playing games or doing other 3D graphics then she probably won't benefit from a dedicated graphics card.Since both of you are new to Macs then trying them out in store is a good way to decided.</blockquote>
