I have about 5 boxes of photos to scan. I want to spend some time scanning them, but only if I use software that can reliably handle multiple photos at once and that does a good job of automatically cropping the photos to their edges.

Any software recs for this?

Canon's MP Navigator does quite a good job. Scans multiple images (I think 9 is max). They don't have to be aligned as it will straighten them up providing there is approx 1 cm between them. Not sure it works on non-Canon scanners. If you want to try but cannot find it I'll try to source a link as it's quite old software.
