Hi all,
I was told to create this directory in OS X El Capitan for Mamp Pro to find my Joomla files.
/Users/username/sites/website1
/Users/username/sites/website2
I don't understand the logic behind this because I don't know where to find the /Users/username folders.
Can anyone help me out?
Thank you.
PS:
Check out the screen shot. Is not how I have it now the way it is supposed to be for /Users/username/sites/

Sigh... I just realized I have two Sites folders. I want to place the one that has my website folders into my /user directory and get rid of the one I have there. I guess it's just a matter of overwriting the original one there. How do I find my /user folder? Thanks.

/Users/username is simply your home folder (which you've got open in your screenshot). From the sounds of it, MAMP just wants you to use the Sites folder in your home directory.

Hello - now, I'm not familiar w/ the app mentioned nor its folder needs - most apps will create their own storage areas in an appropriate location on your internal drive.

But regarding locating your 'Users' folder, simply open Finder and click on 'Macintosh HD' (first image below), the 'Users' folder is shown by the arrow - clicking on that folder will open the second image below, i.e. the Users & Defaults w/i this locale (the Path is marked by the arrow @ the bottom).

You can also enter 'System Preferences', and select 'Users & Groups' if you need the make changes there? Dave :)

Hi RadDave,
Thank you for taking the time to show me this. I appreciate it. :)
I also found this to work
"Choose Home from the Finder’s Go menu and press the Command and Up Arrow keys, or Go to Folder and provide /Users/ as the path."
Thanks again for your help. :)

Hello - glad to help! Yep, there are dozens of key combinations that can perform all sorts of tasks that may require multiple 'mouse' clicks - I know only a handful, but checkout this Apple Support Article, if interested. Dave :)
