I have a mid-2007 Macbook C2D 2.16ghz. I maxed out the RAM, replaced the HDD with an SSD and replaced the dvd drive with the original HDD. The computer runs great, almost as well as it did when I bought it about 7 years ago. The problem is, I can't upgrade past 10.7.5 and I know I am going to be open to new security vulnerabilities. It's a shame. This computer works great, but has no more support from Apple. I don't want to buy a new one because there is nothing wrong with this. Any ideas on what do to? Is it safe to keep using without any further security updates? I've tried Ubunutu and Windows in the past and they don't run as well as OS X.
