Saw Bonnie in concert just a couple years ago - her voice is still mesmerizing today.

Talking mesmerising, I'm listening to Janis Joplin ~ Piece of My Heart . . From her 'Anthology' Album.

I think she is Mesmerising anyway.

Excellent choice. There's something very raw, in a good way, about her voice.

I'm also listening to some of Cyndi Lauper's recent songs. I find that I'm much more impressed by her current voice than when she was doing "Girls Just Wanna Have Fun".

Very true. Its why still now, that she is selling albums, because no matter how far back she passed away, her voice doesn't age at all, and still hits the spot with the youth of today.

As the Cyndi, she is a lot more mature now, and agree her voice is more suited to her age now than back in the 80's.

It wasn't so much that I thought her voice was bad then as much as that song didn't show what her voice could do. I also got tired of the song -- mostly because like many songs of that era it was played way too much.

I became aware of the difference in her voice when she appeared in a couple of episodes of the show Bones and sang one or two songs in that show.

Here's an example of one of the episode's she appeared in. Cyndi Lauper's rendition of At Last. Not Etta James but not bad either.

Since the announcement of his passing on Thursday I've been playing a large part of my B.B. King collection.
