What mac should i get?

Alright i'm looking at getting a mac because im sick of windows ****** os. I m a musician and i'm planning to record a lot so what mac would be right for me ? i was first thinking about a mac book but i was not sure if this would be smart if i'm recording on it( i have a studio to run). Then i was thinking about getting a imac but i'm still not sure which would be better for me. I was planning to spend about $1400.00 bucks... so guys which machine would be best for me ?

With your budget I would say iMac just like ibookclamman.

Unless you just need the portability of a laptop i too would recommend the iMac. Get the best one you can afford, but get 2 gig of ram, just not from Apple on the ram, you can beat their price by a whole lot on ram.

If your going to be doing lots of recording, i would look into getting a large external hard drive too for storage as music files done in .wav can take up LOTS of space.
