What language am I writing in?

Spell check under lines almost every word I write. How do I sort this out ? Please help it's driving me mad

When I am in Hotmail or ebay, also as I write now, my words are being under lined by the spellcheck and suggesting a different language. When I am in WORD it seems fine. Thanks for your reply.

The underlining you're talking about…I think…is what I usually experience when I mis-spell a word. It's not a "what language" am I writing in thing.

I'm going to assume you do know what language you are writing in! If you don't…then you can't read it…and should change to a language you can read!

You didn't mention what OS X version you're using, but it might help if you read through Apple's two kb articles to get a bit of understanding of how spell check works in Mountain Lion an d Mavericks, and the options available:
