What kind of DDR?

I am looking into upgrading my G5 to 1 Gig.. Does anyone have any suggestions on what brand memory to use?

Also, I have 2 sticks of 256 in there now, the DDR that the G5 came with..

I can just add 2 sticks of 512 in the other slots, correct? I know that they should be identical pairs but do the size of the sticks have to match up all the way across the board??

2 sticks of 512

2 sticks of 256

= OK? Problems?

I upped my G5 to 1ghz with RAM from RamJet.com You can definitely get retail (name brand) RAM cheaper on NewEgg.com but the only reason I went with RamJet was because they were "Authorized Dealers" for Mac RAM. Normally I wouldn't care but seeng as I just purchased my G5 I thought it would be for the best.

Use DDR 400/3200

As long as the pair of sticks you are putting in match, you can put in what ever size you want... I did exactly what you are leaning towards with the 512... works fine.

Don't forget that the modules must be CL3 (for G5 1.8/2.0). Using CL 2,5may cause problems.Do not even think of CL2
